My activity:

As part of a review of lexis my 9th grade students were divided into groups of three or four each.
Each group got a different list of 10 already learnt words and had to use all the words on their list in a creative task which was assigned to them.
This could be writing a funny poem, a short story, a letter to a character in a story we have read, a dialogue between two inanimate objects about their "lives", a complaint to their parents, a note on their fridge, a plan of any sort or a comment on an event of their choice.
They worked as a team and after about 20 minutes each group read the product of another group, wrote their comments and suggested improvements.
Finally, some of the mini-projects were read in front of the class and everybody could comment on them.
After I took these projects and made my own notes, they were all desplayed on the walls of the classroom.
The students' feedback was very good and they said they would like to have more activities like that one.
